Marquis takes first loss as Cards miss sweep

Outfield 2.JPG

So today I got to go to my second game of the season at the new Busch Stadium and was sitting closer to the game then ever before.  Section 132 Row C Seat 12.  Thats the third row from the field in the corner along the first base line, aisle seat.  I could reach over the wall and touch the dirt.  Amazing seats.  Incredible.  I was hoping that we get some foul balls or some hard hit balls that bounce into the seats but we got nothing.  I was also hoping that the Cards would complete the sweep of the Cubs but it just wasn’t in the cards, no pun intended.  I was able to get some great shots from the third row, so check them out over in the galleries.

Beavers Take Two of Three

Last night was the second week of the spring volleyball season and things went a lot better than they did during the first week.  We ended up winning the first two games soundly and losing the third by only a few points.  The Eager Beavers are now 2 and 4 after two weeks.  On a side note, I find that I play a lot better after drinking a few before the game.  Interesting.

Eager Beavers Take on Bumpin’ Uglies

I know what you’re thinking, “what the hell does that title mean?”  Well, exactly what it says.  Last night was the first week of volleyball and we, the Eager Beavers, were playing Bumpin’ Uglies.  I think we got matched up against the best team in the league.  I mean, who sets and spikes in a beer league?  Not our team.  We managed to lose all three games but we show some promise.  I’m really just playing to have a good time and drink beer with a group of friends, not really to be the best team out there that takes it too seriously.  Of course, I hate losing at anything so I imagine that I will start taking it too seriously soon.  I took the camera so that one of our fans (yes, we have fans) can take some pictures of the team.  However, the camera only works if have the battery in it and not sitting on the charger at home.  Who knew?

I was totally stroked….

So this past Saturday, I went with bob and jenn to my first concert of the year.  It was the Strokes show featuring the Eagels of Death Metal playing the Pageant.  My god, what a great show.  Granted, I probably was pretty close to being drunk before the show even started.  Its tough to keep up with Bob but I sure put up a valient effort.  The Eagles of Death metal is a great rock band, not really Death metal, but still rock hard.  I plan on picking up their album.  They were probably one of the best opening acts I’ve ever seen perform and if you take a look at the list below, they’re up against some stiff competition.  The Strokes of course tore it up.  I mean, they’re they Strokes, thats what they do.  All in all, a great start to the concert year.  And with lower level Center Row R tickets to the Dave show, the summer is looking promising.  Also, word on the street is that the Counting Crows will be touring with the Goo Goo Dolls this summer.  It will be like highschool all over again.  ROCK!!
