25 Years and Counting

So this past Sunday, I turned the quarter-century mark and began the journey to 30.  Celebration started on Friday and continued through the weekend.  I can always count on my friends to get me drunk and allow me to make a fool of myself.  I’m too tired to share the stories but I will sum it up in single words.  Beer.  BBQ.  Beer.  Jaeger.  Beer.  Fighting.  Beer.  Baseball.  Driving.  Cake.  Relatives.  Presents.  New Weber Grill.  Bowling.  Beer.  and Beer.

I’ve also been on vacation this entire week and do not have to return to work until June 1st.  Although, I haven’t really done anything too exciting.  Just lots of cleaning, hanging out with my little sister, played a little golf, and bought a new watch.  I’m heading to CoMO for the weekend to visit Johnny, who recently graduated from Law school.  Congratulations to him.  The DMB show is on Tuesday of next week, I’m pretty stoked for that.

I wonder when my insurance break will kick in.  Ah, the perks of getting old.

RABC Takes Five as Team Continues to Improve

  • Jen         169  121  161   -11
  • Andrew   125  136  102   +51
  • Bob        113  170  147   +13
  • Brandon  227  201  159   +65

I won’t make excuses for my third game but I’m sure the bleeding blisters on my heels (from trying to break in my golf shoes earlier in the day) didn’t help.  RABC took 5 of 7 points and improve to 12 and 16 on the season, good enough for 2nd place.  Rock Rock on.

Beavers Chew Past Hit In and Forget It

Last night the Eager Beavers faced off against Hit It and Forget It (yes thats their team name) on the Florida white sands of the Pavillion’s volleyball courts.  With the season looking dismal (2-10 going into the game), the Beavers starting strong and cruised through the first game winning 25 – 17.

Hit It regrouped for the second game and came out fighting.  However, the Beavers would refuse to go easily and kept the game tight.  Led by Peimann’s hardcore spikes and Anne’s amazing serving skills, the Beavers battled back and won 27 – 25.  Unfortunately, I was resigned to playing in pain when an out-of-position teammate decided to go for a ball that was clearly mine and ending up driving his knee into my manhood.

So with the first two games in hand, the Beavers went out for the third hoping to earn their first sweep of the season.  However, Hit It had other plans in store and turned it on for the third game.  Hit It took an early lead and never looked back.  The Beavers tried to make a late-game run but it just wouldn’t happen.  Hit It avoided the sweep by winning 25 – 19.  Its ok though.  The Beavers have tasted victory again and are eager to continue the trend (no pun intended).

4 – 11 after 5 weeks.

RABC Week 3

Well, we’ll call this week of bowling an improvement over the previous weeks, but still not up to par with what I should be doing.  No story this week, just the scores.

  • Jen           171  157  143
  • Bob          171  146  115
  • Andrew     85    77    89
  • Brandon   193  203  146

The beer was really flowing by the third game, hence the shitty third game for everybody.

A Whole New Look

The sun is shining, its 70 degrees outside, and there is wiffleball to be played (beat Bob last time – rematch anytime).  So in changing with the seasons, I have switched over to a new layout.  Everything remains, its just all down the left side now.  Addictions are back as well as the calender.  I decided to keep the translating flags that you’ll see at the top of the page, since page hits from around the globe are drastically increasing.  By the way, brandonduke.com is now over 20,000 page views!  Rock!!  Feel free to leave me any comments or suggestions regarding the new look.
