Eager Beavers have best start since…..well, since ever

In an astonishing, never seen before, feat of accomplishment, the Eager Beavers swept their opponent for the second straight week.  The team was in full force with the return of Andrew and Yao.  So far, the key to our success has been the serving.

Andrew was heard saying, “I’ve never seen anything like that before.  I mean, the way Brandon makes the ball dive over the net with his serve is simply beautiful.”

Brandon mentioned, “Nobody takes a ball off the chest like Andrew does.”

Laura rebounded from her serving struggles last week and Amanda powered on like the intermediate player that she is.

After the sweep was completed, Peimann did his signature move of covering himself in beer and rolling in the sand while chanting “We’re number 1!  Don’t mess with the beavers!  Because we’re eager!”

“Word.” Jenn stated.

Eager Beavers back in action

Volleyball started up again this week after much delay and speculation on when the league would actually start.  The weather was nice but the sand was a little chilly.  With two players missing due to injuries and work, the Beavers set out to play with just five players.  The first game was pretty much a coin toss as it came down to the wire.  Both teams looked pretty bad and it was clear that the winter rust had set in pretty good.  EB came out on top though winning by a final score of 21 – 19.  The second game went a little smoother, the rust started to come off, and our colors started to shine.  Beavers started to remember how to serve and bump and concentrated on getting the ball over the net.  EB won the second game 21 – 14 i think.  The third game was a bit of a bore, simply because it was pure domination  Amanda showed off her legendary serving game, taking 13 straight points with probably half of those being aces.  Final score of game three, EB 21 – 10.

This may be the only time I get to say this, Eager Beavers in 1st place!!!

Bernstein 2 1 0
Ferocious Cougars 2 1 0

Things that change….

The seasons. Spring is upon us which means that baseball is here, hockey is ending (I think) and fall bowling leagues are coming to a close. I look forward to Cardinals domination as I’m an optimist. I was lucky enough to attend the third game of the season. Lucky because the seats were eight rows up, not because we had our asses handed to us. There are only 5 weeks left of bowling and I look forward to 3 months or so off. April also means the start of Volleyball. Oh boy I can’t wait.

The Job. March 29th marked my 3 year anniversary with Commerce and the fourth year started on a high note. After months of waiting, I was promoted to a Senior Systems Specialist/Analyst. Finally, I can afford nice things. Or at least pay down the remainder of my debt.

The clothes. I get to mark off another item on my Things To Buy list. Today, I purchased a Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Washer and Dryer. Energy Star rated with lots of room and all kinds of features and settings. Doing my part to reduce global warming, or something like that.

Remaining Things to Do or Purchase

  • Coffee and End Tables
  • Washer/Dryer
  • Dining Room Table and Chairs
  • Patio Table and Charis
  • Plasma TV
  • Replace current dresser and bedside table with matching set.
