Return from my trip to Nexuuranus

Yeah, you wish you knew what or where that was.

So, since I’ve been a lazy ass on my posting, let me inform you on what’s been going on.

Both of my bowling leagues are over.  My Thursday night team finished 4th overall and I finished with a 190 average.  My Sunday night team finished pretty close to last.  However, I finished with a 204 average, which is good enough for 1st place in the guys’ division.  I also had 2nd high series and 4th high game.  From both leagues, I won a total of $400 in prize money, so that’s good.  That’s going towards the new TV.

Last weekend was the 1st annual St. Louis Brewfest held in Forest Park.  50 different beers from a group of St. Louis based breweries.  We didn’t make it through all 50 beers but I think we did pretty well overall.  In about 3.5 hours, we sampled close to 30 or 35 different beers.  The commemorative glass that gave out held 3 to 4 ounces of beer.  So that’s somewhere between 90 and 105 ounces of beer.  They also gave each taster a beer catalogue to keep track of what you drank.  We used it to keep track of what we liked.  However, I left mine on the table.  Overall, it was a pretty good time and worth the $25 ticket.  I’m sure I’ll be going to the 2nd annual……  Pictures from STL Brewfest

The Eager Beavers still reside in 1st place, even after two weeks of 1 win/2 losses.  It’s a good thing we started the season 6 and 0.  Tonight we go against the Ferocious Cougars, who only have a record of 4 and 5 on the season.  I think it will go either way.  They won two games against Hit it and Forget it, who won two games against us, albeit they were close games.  But they also lost two games against Players gone wild who we swept in week 1.  The game is early, the weather is great, and the EB’s are looking to rebound.  My prediction, EB’s 2 – FC’s 1.

Bechel 5 4 0
Hit It and Forget It 5 4 0
To Kill A Blocking Nerd 5 4 0
Ferocious Cougars 4 5 0
Players Gone Wild 3 9 0

Also, this weekend, half of the EB’s will be playing on a team in a Beer Bash.  A beer bash is a volleyball tournament sponsored by STL Volleyball.  For $30 a player, its all you can drink and eat while playing at least 8 games of volleyball.  Its suppose to be a beautiful weekend, so it should be a good time.  And Yes!  I promise that I will not try and pick any fights this time.
oh.  and.  5 days until 26.  I’m closer to 30 than I am to 20.  Oy Vey!

Going into week 3, the Beavers are sitting pretty atop the league.  Wednesday night’s oppenent, Bechel, is 1 and 2 and hasn’t played in two weeks.  My projection is that the EB’s will be 8 and 1 after this week.  Yeah, I gave us one loss on the off chance that its windy.

And for your reading pleasure, a little info on the Bechel:

The ancestral home of the Bechel family is in the German state of Bavaria. The name Bechel is an occupational hereditary surname, a type of surname that was taken from a word describing or common to the profession of the original bearer. It is a name for a baker, and it is derived from the German word beck. The family name Bechel is also a cognate of the German name Bach, which either refers to the occupation of baker or to someone who lived by a stream.
