LaRussa’s tactics are growing old

The National League lost the All-Star game again.  However, this time, I believe fault falls to the manager only.  Nevermind the fact that NL pitchers game up some bombs.  LaRussa clearly lost this game for the National League.  LaRussa gave away the opportunity for the NL to reclaim All-Star pride and World Series home field advantage.

How the hell do you send Aaron Rowand over Albert Pujols to the plate when the score is 5-4 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth?

LaRussa says he was saving Albert for extra innings.  HELLO! DUMB ASS! A hard ground ball through the infield, a shot into a corner, a 3-run homer would all win the game, with no need for extra innings!

Aaron Rowand:  Avg  .310, HR 11, RBI 43, SLG .478

Albert Pujols:  Avg .310, HR 16, RBI 52, SLG .516

Seems pretty damn obvious to me.

LaRussa, your antics may have worked last year in the World Series.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m frickin’ ecstatic that the Cards won a WS title.  However, St. Louis should feel lucky that the Tigers didn’t show up with their A-game.

And, not only did LaRussa lose it for the NL, he pissed off is number 1 player in the process.  Way to go, asshole.

I guess it doesn’t matter to LaRussa, its not like our team will be getting there this year.
