Happy Repeal Day
Thats right, today is Repeal Day. So grab yourself a drink and celebrate your right to booze!
 
Recreation of an American classic…………sort of
When I was young I didn’t watch too much TV, unlike now-a-days. Maybe a show here or there during the week but the bulk of my TV watchin’ came on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night was filled with family sitcoms like Family Matters, Full House, Step by Step, and Hangin’ with Mr Cooper. Saturday was a completely different story. Saturday night, I would generally stay late with my brother and father and watch “guy” shows, starting with American Gladiators followed by Roller Derby. I looked forward to these shows much like I do with Heroes, Chuck, Scrubs, or Boston Legal.
Well NBC, in its infinate wisdom, had decided to recreate the classic American Gladiators. No doubt partly due to the writers’ strike. They are even planning on bringing some of the old games back. Now that better than 13 years have passed since the last episode aired, I hope they don’t plan on bringing back the original gladiators.
The ultimate David & Goliath battle returns! Everyday American heroes – men and women who spend their lives working for others – pit themselves against the show’s gladiators, a team of action stars and stunt professionals. Classic events such as The Joust, The Wall, Hang Tough and The Eliminator get a whole new twist for bigger thrills, bigger impact, and the biggest action show of the 21st century!
The new show will have new hosts as well with Hulk Hogan (aka Terry Bollea) and Laila Ali (daughter of Mohammad Ali).
I’ll give it an initial viewing, however, chances are that it won’t get much more than that from me. Unless somebody breaks something and the bone is visible through the skin. That would be a new reality event and a much see.
